Jim Borell
“I wanna go fast!” Though spoken originally by Will Ferrell's character Ricky Bobby, those words could have come straight out of Jimmy Borell's mouth. Jimmy wants to go fast, and has never had a problem doing so, from his time as an All-State and All-District athlete in high school, to his years at Maryland spent flying in from the wing, Jimmy has never missed a chance to showcase his speed.
Arriving at Maryland by a route that included North Braddock High School in Northern Virginia, and the Air Force Academy, Jimmy impressed his coaches at Maryland from the start, breaking the school record in the 40 yard dash, and was able to use his athleticism to be a shutdown short stick defender, and a ferocious wing man on faceoffs. Jimmy collected a variety of awards in his time at Maryland, including the Hammer Award for the team's Hardest Hitter, the Dick Edell Big Man Award, and the Unsung Hero award.
At the conclusion of the 2007 season Jim moved on to play for the Los Angeles Riptide in the MLL, and then the Philadelphia Wings in the NLL. Aside from playing lacrosse, Jim has put his kinesiology degree to good use as a trainer at Brick Bodies, and as an assistant coach for the McDonough School. Jim is also an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
