Ray Megill

Ray in the MLL A native of Clark, New Jersey, Ray played lacrosse and football at Arthur L. Johnson High School. He was team captain of his Lacrosse team and honored as all-conference, team MVP, and All-American while at Johnson. Ray chose to continue his education and lacrosse career at the University of Maryland on a Lacrosse scholarship.

At Maryland, Ray helped lead his team to two final fours and four playoff appearances. He was a three time All-American, senior captain, and named MVP his senior year. Not only did Ray play defense, but he faced off and played long stick middie as well. He graduated from Maryland with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Ray now plays professional lacrosse for the Boston Cannons. He was selected ninth overall in the draft and was the only defenseman picked in the first round. Ray plays defense as well as short stick defensive middie for the Cannons. Ray was selected as rookie of the year for the cannons for his efforts to play both positions and was named “Mr. Versatile”.

Ray’s dedication and hard work has helped in his success on and off the field. He is devoted to helping the growth of young athletes and the sport of lacrosse.
